only Joanne and I came to school. the rest were sick. Joanne did her turntable thingy for the Create Blog section while i created the enter page and started on the individual fountains/statues.

tuesday, 29 aug
all of us came to school. Joanne finished her turntable thingy. i continued on my fountains. Sabrina started on the images for the global navigation. Daniel worked on the newspaper for the 'How Blogs Can Be Used' section. we are all also starting on the promotional items; a poster, a CD cover and an online banner.

i hope we can finish everything on time. (:

i'm sick too -> because of flu too.

our group is quite weak.

3 out of 4 members were sick during this period.

sab is the only healthy one.

Well today i woke up late......... when i reached school in the afternoon, Dee and Sab were already working (duh.....) . Dee was alsomost finished with the fountains and Sab was working on the interface of(dunno which section). Well i did send a copy of the updated design of the newspaper section to Sab thru hotmail, but it seems that hotmail will reduce the size and quality of the image??? strange...... nvr gonna use hotmail for sending images again...... as for my main page coding, veri little progress as although my code works in a swf file, exporting to IE see,s to be screwed..... must be the coordinate code is not accurate for the instance where the swf file is in browser??? Looks like i have to rescript ZZZzzzzZZZ.

our grp decided to meet at joanne's house to share a cab, causing to be late >_<.(where is my cab money....) Our prototype presentation went smoothly without much comments .......(wonder why). We basically worked on our project after the presentation. Mr Choong managed to spot a design flaw in my newspaper section.... oh well looks like i will be doing it over again. The fountain would also be edited. We are planning to make three separate fountains for the three different bloggers. Dee would be handling that....... while the rest of us continue to code (dying)

hello. it's me! it's me!

i am here to blog about what went on on Tuesday, 22 Aug. we came school as usual. for the prototype presentation the next day, we decided to present our main page and the "Create Blog" function in our "Benefits of Blogging" section. we were almost there for the style we intended to do for the main page, but not quite. so we worked on the images of the main page and by afternoon it was ready to be coded. managed to do simple panning instead of the intended panoramic panning for the main page. heh. for the "Famous Bloggers" section, we decided to change the three statues as one to three individual fountains with the statues in them. haha. geddit? nevermind. hahaha.

the highlight of the day must've been when Joanne was done with the "Create Blog" section. she was happy to show it off and everybody was happy to "create a blog". haha.

yes, very tiring week indeed. its almost killing all of us.
but guess what i think we've got potions for resurrection prepared. ha.

ok, im gonna blog about MONDAY, 21 AUGUST 2006.

we basically went to school as usual with stuffs that we have done over the weekends. like images. our blog park was refined as it was 'not there yet'. it's got a sun thats bright and yummy in the background. images for newspaper was ready with three sections of news basically about celebrity blogging, reasons for why everybody should blog and the blogging fever. supervisor says he wanna see more. we'll work on that i promise.
and then we had images done for one section which was the benefits of a blog section. below are just some of the background skins that will be the choices for the user before they create a blog of their own.

(due to some problem with the WWW. I CANT SEEM TO UPLOAD ANY IMAGES AT ALL AND EVERYTHING IS IN HTML MODE. gosh. this is so killing me badly with torture. ;c)

anyway. basically our day on monday was like that. we started a bit of coding too. but definitely more refinements to do. yea. more images to go !

Well today we showed Mr Choong our storybaord remake and mocked uped versions of our application. We made slight adjustments to how we planned to do the "benefits of blogging" section. We also spent time to discuss how to improve the main page design as the feedback was that the initial design was underdeveloped. We plan to use the weekend to complete most if not all of the graphical elements for our application so that coding, packaging/promotional items can start by next week. Looks like it'll be a busy two days ahead.

.Haha. It was my turn to blog yesterday, (16 August), but as you all know, we didn't sleep at all on 15 August, I was super tired, so didn't have the engery to enter the blog.

ya, had our presentation yesterday. Dee wasn't there as she was really really very very sick. We took cab from dee's house to school. haha, expensive (because it was peak hours and we dial a cab) but lucky it was spilt among us.

we were the 1st group to present~! it wasn't scary to me as i wasn't really feeling that well then. but we manage to pull thru with ms coen saying that she didn't really feel the fever. it broke our little hearts to hear that. :( ms wenlei was suggesting that we could consider focusing more on other stuffs too as now, we were focusing more on how it was to create a blog.

went back to our seats and watch other groups present. daniel was the most tired among the 3 of us as he didn't sleep a wink last night (sab n i manage to sleep for about 2 hours). we had a hard time trying to keep awake. :p (p.s. sorry other groups)

the whole presentation thingy ended at around 12+ and we were to meet our lecturer (
supervisor), mr stephan. haha, he said that we were ALOT BETTER THAN YESTERDAY. our hard work did paid off~!

of course, there were things that we need to change. we can't only focus on the easy to create thing. we were told to sort of add things that were mentioned in our flowchart. also told to amend our information flowchart to a better one.

daniel went to blk m while we went to "ta bao" our lunch. dee joined us b4 we finished our lunch as she was feeling better. we amended our information flowchart and also, brainstormed on how to make the various info on the information flowchart fit into the application.

we left the school at 5.00+pm.

okay. hi.
i was supposed to write an entry yesterday but because of the workload we had, i forgot all about this blog. HUR.

after much consideration, we decided to work on BLOG FEVER. stayed in school to do some research and refine the information flowchart. we had our BLOG FEVER proposal approved quite late yesterday, so there was still a lot of work to do. the information flowchart still needed refinement and we have yet to complete the storyboard for the flash application. everybody was so tensed up, except maybe Daniel; i don't know how he managed to stay so relaxed throughout the whole thing. we predicted that we wouldn't be able to finish everything on time, since it was already 9pm and we were still in school, struggling with the storyboard. so in the end, the rest of the group members decided to stay over at my house and stayed up the whole night to complete everything. haha. and we managed to do it. even though we were sick/falling sick and very tired and sleepy, we completed everything! yeeha.

okay, so this is our BLOG FEVER proposal, finalised:

Goals and objectives
Our group decided to interpret “fever” as a contagious and prolonged enthusiasm for a certain activity (craze). We aim to create a dynamic micro site to reflect the enthusiasm involved in the subject matter.

Target Audience
Our primary target audience would be the people who don’t blog at all and who never heard of blogs before. Our secondary audience would be the bloggers who blog irregularly.

Storyboard of Flash Application
The storyboard basically shows that we're trying to create an application whereby users are able to create their own blogs with a few easy steps.

okok. and so today was officially the start of the whole studio project.
we were in school from 9am-6pm and we have to do so everyday during this period of project work.
well first up, we had our first critic session with the lecturers. we presented to them about the goals and objectives of our three different topics.
unfortunately, we were not able to pull off the topics really well. lecturers felt that maybe our approach was more of comparisons and essential needs than to having a fever which means something enthusiastic, craziness and sacrificial.

and ya, cos we were almost dozing off in the studio we went to macdonald for better environment for discussion.
we brainstormed again and we had new topics like

-blogging fever
--> cos of the rise in blogs nowadays and bloggers becoming celebrities or ambassadors for brands or magazines. we felt that this was quite a strong topic for viewers now as this is quite a current issue amongst us.

-reality tv fever
--> cos of the rise in singing competitions, job search competitions and stuffs like that. ya. survivor was one of the starters of it all. ha. yes. ima survivor. this was a topic which is more to the participant themselves. we had to know what it feels really like as a participant of that particular reality tv show.

- virtual pets fever
--> during the period 1997-1998, tamagotchi and digimons or say what we call them the portable virtual pet device was quite a fever amongst kids our era. it was a must have for every child during that time.

- handphone fever
--> because everybody has a handphone now. and even nine-year old kids have handphne themselves.

after much discussion among ourselves and the lecturer, we decided to drop a few of our initial concepts and we came down to these choices:

BLOGGING FEVER
HANDPHONE FEVER
SALES FEVER

we kinda evolved shopping fever into sales because we thought maybe what we were trying to focus on was more on sales than on shopping.
and so yea. information flowcharts will be finalised and i hope things are getting better for us!

yea. surveys being carried out. to see how we can really measure up how 'trendy' each idea we have is.

ok. i think thats all for now. haha. we gotta be in school 9-6 everyday now. bah. ;c

The dots met up at KFC jurong yesterday to brainstorm on how to best tackle the project.

1. Fast Food Feverhaha looks lik a project on the evils of fastfood >_< we chose to work on the origins and aspect of why fastfood is so rampant in the mordern lifestyles of the young.

2. Shopping FeverThis project was more clear cut as we decided to do a microsite on the shopping scene in singapore, with teenage girls(15-20 years) as the main target audience. The target for this site is to be as comprehensive as possible in relation to the topic so that a person who doesnt shop often would be able to easily go out and find the best buys. ^^

3. Sex FeverHmmm i dun realli lik the sound of this >_< . Well the group decided to base this project on educating young adults about unprotected sex. More specifically unprotected pre-marital sex.

A few things are for certain
1. We will create an intresting game for our microsite ^^
2.We are going to need to have a survey to gather peoples' thought on the subjectWell the project look promising so far, keep up the good works guys!!! ^^

Ooooh wow. I'm here to blog! Yay!

Anyway, DOTS had an online meeting today to discuss the development of our ideas on one of the topics we have chosen, which is SHOPPING FEVER. A lot of ideas were laid out, which is good! Good job, people. Keep it up and we'll ace this whole thing. Haha. WOO.

We had a suggestion from Sabrina and Joanne to incorporate a game into the website. After much discussion, the finalised idea of the game is to create something which will be sort of educational... or maybe more of an analysis or a 'self-discovery' kind of thing, because the motive of the game will be to find out whether the player has been hit by the SHOPPING FEVER. The game will challenge the player to one shopping trip with a budget of only $30. If the player happens to exceed the budget, it means that he/she is suffering from the fever. So... yeah. This is the main idea of what we want to do with the game.

After that, we discussed on the 3 main sections of the SHOPPING FEVER website. The finalised idea of that is as follows:
Section #1 - An analysis of different types of shoppers
Section #2 - A short article based on spending tips/ finding a "cure" for this fever (topic not finalised yet)
Section #3 - The game

Yup, so that's it. One topic down, TWO MORE TO DISCUSS. Till the next entry. Ciao.

The winner for the second round of voting goes to SHOPPING FEVER. Thus we had decided that shopping shall be the team for our project.
